Intro to UNM - American Indian Student Bridge
Andrew Yazzie (he/him) is the Student Recruitment Specialist at American Indian Student Services (AISS). He grew up in Shiprock, NM and is Diné. He has worked with AISS since 2010 – as an undergraduate student from 2010 to 2013, a Professional Intern from 2013 to 2015, and a Student Recruitment Specialist since 2015. His primary responsibilities encompass targeted American Indian recruitment and outreach initiatives. Andrew represents UNM & AISS at national, regional, and statewide recruitment events and directly engages with Native students to provide guidance & advisement specific to UNM admissions and connection to AISS support services & programs. The AISB Program was established in 1999 and has served over 400 Native American students from across the country transition to university life at UNM. Andrew has a long history with the AISB Program – he transitioned to UNM through the Program in 2008, served as a Residential Advisor in 2012, and has assisted with the coordination of the program throughout his time at AISS. He’s excited for a new academic year and to support the success of our newest Lobos!
