Director of the Office of Pre-Health Professions Student Development - So, You Want to Work in Healthcare?
I graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, and after completing a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in hematology-oncology in New York City, worked at a hospital in downtown Brooklyn before moving to Albuquerque in 2001. In addition to caring for patients, I got involved teaching medical students and residents almost immediately. In the fall of 2007, I taught my freshman course for the first time and have remained committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduates interested in careers in the health professions ever since. In addition to ongoing responsibilities at the School of Medicine, I am also the director of the Office of Pre-Health Professions Student Development, located in University College, helping all students interested in careers in healthcare achieve their professional goals.
