Tomide Oloruntobi earned his BA and MA in English from Adekunle Ajasin University and the University of Ibadan, respectively. He also got his MSc in Communication Studies from Minnesota State University Mankato and currently a doctoral student in the Department of Communication and Journalism. Tomide’s research interests stand at the crossroads of Critical Intercultural and Health Communication. His research has looked at the body in intercultural contexts specifically to propose an embodied approach to adaptation research. He has also analyzed the TV show; Shameless looking at the complex intersecting identities of Poor whites as portrayed in the show. Aside from engaging in conversations around Critical Intercultural and Health communication, he is currently investigating the underlying imperial impulse that orient the globalization turn in Nollywood; specifically interrogating the question: What is new about New Nollywood? Tomide is always delighted to work with and help his students succeed.
